2024 Christmas Letter - by Nyah
Hello friends and family!
I, Nyah Guddat, am writing the Christmas letter this year! Getting presents and gifts from people is not the reason we should celebrate Christmas, but because Christ sent His Son down to this earth to save people from their sins. We don’t need any presents, because God sending His Son down to earth is the best Christmas present ever!
My family and I had some adventures this year. This included going to Donnor Lake with family, having vacation to see Guddat family in Washington, and having a family vacation in Bandon, OR. Another exciting part of our year is my dad candidating to become an elder in our church. There were also hard times, including losing family: Uncle Jeff Guddat, Randy Morris, and Great GrandDad John Bullis. Through the good times and the hard times this year, God is always with us and is our help through it all.
How about I update you on my family! Dad (Adam - 41) My dad is the best dad ever! His top two favorite books from this year are the Bible and Torchured for Christ by Richard Wurmbrand. My dad’s favorite food is sushi - he has great taste! He loves to spend time with us and go on hot dates with my mom! My dad is a very hard worker, providing everything we need. Dad is really fun and I have been enjoying learning how to play poker with him.
Mom (Alisha - 36) My mom is awesome! Her top two favorite books from this year are the Bible and When Words Matter Most by Marshall and Newheiser. Her favorite food is sushi. Things you will often find her doing is baking (sometimes dancing while she does it) and playing music (sometimes I can’t hear my school teachers when she is pounding on the piano). Mom is always cheerful, even when she is not feeling well.
Geneva (GG - 12) My sister is very funny and kind! Her top two favorite books from this year are the Bible and This Seat’s Saved by Heather Holleman. Her favorite foods are anything Italian and sushi and she is the most adventurous eater of our family. She loves hiking, baking, babysitting (if you need a babysitter call her and me!), hanging out with her friends, and playing in the backyard with our dog, Maisy. My sister is hard working and has a beautiful and strong voice!
Marcus (Marky - 10) I have the goofiest and most energetic brother! His top two favorite books from this year are the Bible and Heaven for Kids by Randy Alcorn. His favorite food is sushi (big shocker). You will often find him playing outside, making forts, reading on the couch, playing piano super well, and sword whittling. Marcus also is a wonderful singer and does great harmony. Marcus and I are always having many adventures together, and I’m hoping for many more!
Nyah (me - 9) Then there is me! My top three favorite books from this year are the Bible, Nancy Drew series by Carolyn Keene, and Cupcake Diaries series by Coco Simon. My favorite food, surprisingly, is sushi (you’re probably guessing how often we eat sushi… not a whole lot but we are piggies when we can have it!) and anything Mexican food. You will often find me reading on the couch, riding my bike, playing with my family and friends, having good conversations, and singing at the top of my lungs.
If you got to the end of this letter, congratulations. Please know that Christ is an everlasting Friend to all who call on Him. May He bless you and your year to come.
Love, The Guddats - Adam, Alisha, Geneva, Marcus, and Nyah
