Reformed Baptist Nunnery

So my friends Grace and Lily started a reformed baptist nunnery! For a while I laughed and joked that I might join them one day. Now, I think I'm going to be a real member!!

In all seriousness, the nunnery is a light joke.

However, being content in singleness isn't.

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths." ~ Prov. 3:5,6

"Delight yourself also in the Lord, and He shall give you the desires of your heart." ~ Ps. 37:4

"Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, 'I will never leave you nor forsake you.' " ~ Heb. 13:5

"Why are you cast down, O my soul? And why are you disquieted within me? Hope in God, for I shall yet praise Him. for the help of His countenance." ~ Ps. 42:5

"Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever." ~ Ps. 23:6

I know it is a struggle at times to be content in where God places us in life, but trusting in the sovereignty of God really helps! If we put our full trust in the Lord and His sovereign will, we no longer need to know the "why"s of life!

Why has God not brought the right person in my life yet?

Why does it seem like I will never find him?

Why does everyone else seem to be happily married or in a healthy relationship?

Why? Why? Why?

I don't think this all the time; but I'll be honest, I have thought those things before in the past. Instead of a "why" pity party, though, I have now been satisfied with the beautiful old truths of knowing that everything works out for our good and for God's glory.

Amen, and amen.

"And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to His purpose." ~ Rom. 8:28
