Christmas 2017
Hello sweet family and friends!
We are so thankful to the Lord for how He has blessed us! This year of 2017 has been filled with much joy, laughter, lessons learned, and growing pains... through it all, God is good and He is faithful.
Our little family is not seeming so "little" these days! Our kiddos continue to grow without mommy's permission... but on the plus side, we are loving all of these new stages in life that they are entering...
Geneva (5) is now in Kindergarten! Say what?! This little lady is absolutely thrilled with school and has been learning like crazy. Geneva enjoys being homeschooled and lives for her Adventure Club that meets once a week with other kiddos her age, exploring the outdoors and reading. Besides school, Geneva can be caught often doing some of her favorite things like biking, dancing, singing, coloring, playing the piano, playing games, tickling her family incessantly, and being a (slightly) bossy big sissy. This girl is a delight to be around, has a beautiful heart, and her smile is contagious. :) Geneva has decided that she wants to be a dentist when she grows up... and no, mommy did not talk her into that.
Marcus (3.5) is a Pre-schooler! But don't be fooled... while he is still only three, this kid is only a half inch shorter than his big sis and weighs a tiny bit more than her! We get asked often if Marcus is G's twin. :) Mr. Marcus is also loving school and adventure time with "his boys." This kid is momma's sweetheart, but he is also daddy's helper and dirt bike buddy. Marcus can often be found playing with monster trucks and planes, being superheros, shooting us with nerf guns, riding his bike and scooter, singing, and using his "man voice" (trying to emulate daddy). Marcus has decided, much to daddy's chagrin, that he wants to be a firefighter. However, this career path may change as he recently discovered that firefighters cannot shoot the bad guys... he's pretty conflicted at the moment.
Nyah (2) is our big girl... as in, she tells mommy all the time, "Mommy, I not wittle, I big girl!" She has us all in love with her and has daddy wrapped around her finger. Even though Nyah is only two, she refuses to be left behind her big brother and sissy. She wants to do everything they do... including school. Little Princess (daddy's nickname for her) has even potty trained herself, again wanting to be like her sis and brother! Nyah loves to dance, would choose to wear dresses every day if it were up to her, also sings (are you seeing a pattern yet?), rides her tricycle, is a loving momma to her baby dolls, and enjoys having books read to her. While Nyah is not concerned about what she will do when she grows up, mommy and daddy joke that she will probably marry a millionaire. ;)
Adam and Alisha ... we have exciting news! We are in the process of becoming foster parents! We are so excited to welcome children from 0-18 months into our home and pour as much love on them as possible while they are with us. And if God opens an opportunity for us to adopt, we will gladly accept. :) Please be praying for us as we begin this new journey! We are excited, but we also know the road ahead will not be easy.
Adam continues to work for California and is very thankful for a good stable job. He continues to help Alisha with projects around the home and also work on his dirt bike. Alisha finished working her job in June and now is officially home full time to homeschool, take care of family, and now foster.
Other events in 2017:
* We had a fun family trip with our Elliott friends to Klamath Falls in April.
* In August, Alisha's brother (Austin) proposed to our beautiful soon-to-be sister-in-law, Lauren
* Adam and I celebrated our 6th anniversary with a little get away to South Lake Tahoe, and enjoyed hiking the Rubicon Trail.
* December, Austin graduated with his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from NAU! We all traveled down to cheer him on as he graduated. :) We also made the most of being in Arizona by seeing Hoover Dam, the Grand Canyon, and Sedona!
We thank God for how He has blessed us this past year, and we thank Him for blessing us with you in our lives! May you know and revel in God's love and grace in this new year!
